Antrim residents urged to depict their ‘Happy Places’ for art exhibition

THE next ‘Wonder FULL’ series from PRSPR Antrim next weekend will focus on art, and is entitled ‘Happy Places’.
The visual art exhibition will celebrate the places, people and moments that make Antrim feel special and is open to anyone that has a happy place in Antrim.
Anyone can submit a piece of their own artwork and be involved in the exhibition, bring their friends and families to come and visit the exhibition or be involved in the Make Your Mark event on the Saturday in Castle Mall.
A creatives-meet up for anyone who’d like to connect with the creative community will also take place.
On Thursday 22 October 6-9pm the exhibition preview night will take place at 55 High Street, Antrim.
Perhaps you think art isn't for you - let this event be the one that changes your mind!
This event will mark the official opening of the exhibition, with live music and refreshments and interactive art, while prize winners will be announced.
On Friday 23 October and Saturday 24 October from 11am - 4pm the exhibition will be available to view.
On Friday 23 October 7-9pm the creatives meet-up will take place, for visual artists, poets, musicians, crafters or creative individuals to chat to like-minded people.
On Saturday from 11am - 3pm at Castle Mall (opposite Poundstretcher), ‘Make your Mark’ will take place, as part of the biggest drawing festival in the UK.
There will be lots of fun activities for young and old and you don’t need to be an artist to give it a go.
There will also be free Spark taster sessions at the Core building in Hall’s Entry close to Iceland from 10.30-11.30am and 11.40-12.40pm.
This will be a new creative club for 5-11 year olds in Antrim - with art, crafts, games, storytelling, nature and wellbeing.
Pieces for the exhibition need to be ready for submission by Wednesday 21 October.
Please contact [email protected] for full entry rules and a submission form.
Also taking place will be the Rewind Room at 55 High Street on Wednesday 21 October from 7-9pm.
The old fashioned monthly get together means no phones, no pressure, just great company.
There will crafts, games, cards, vinyls, and a cuppa - come for 10 minutes or stay for two hours!
On November 1st from 3-4pm, there will be a fancy dress litter pick, starting from Antrim Library.
Tea and biscuits will be provided afterwards.
